1.
When I was a dreamer, I’d dream of you I was dreaming of a love so true Along you came with all your grace And kept my lonely dreaming at bay And from our love, a garden did grow To beds of roses that bloom in my soul But when I awakened nobody remained Alone, I was but dreaming again A lonely dreamer, dreaming again
2.
Birdsong 03:02
All the bitterness I’ve been saving for you Spilling from my lips do you mind, do you Know what I mean when I say I don’t want to go back Don’t want to go back Don’t know if I can Round and round I go heading nowhere slow Dripping green and gold, dripping green and gold And the birdsong rang out in the evening breeze Calling me out, calling out to me Tears in the dark they sang Won’t get you far away Won’t get you far away Won’t get you far Tears in the dark they sang Won’t get you far away Won’t get you far
3.
Gentle Hand 03:04
I’ve been searching for the beauty in the corners of my mind I’m looking for the beauty but it’s hard to find I’d like to get to know you, I’d like to understand Hold all this space between us with a gentle hand Every beating, every moment fleeting In that space between where we stand We could try to know each other How rare is that? Here and now can you say you’re with me With all your heart this could be our This could be our chance for love This could be our chance for love This could be our chance for love This could be our chance for love
4.
You can take your time I’ll be waiting on the other side Forgive me if I’ve faltered, I never meant to be unkind You see I’ve only touched upon the workings of the mind To miss your worth, you must be blind This world needs more of your kind I’m standing here, I’m waiting by For when you’re ready to feel alive I’m standing here, I’m waiting by For when you’re ready to feel alive
5.
Candles flicker, kick all the words from the page I am trying to listen Drifting further from this state This is a safe place Dance in the dim light, take time to rest When no one’s home I’m at my best Heavy steam rising from my fingers Bones melting again All I want, all I need Is your warm embrace Dance in the dim light, take time to rest When no one’s home I’m at my best Dance in the dim light Dance in the dim light Dance in the dim light Dance in the dim light
6.
Dead Bell 03:11
Nobody can hear me now I am dead bell, dead bell, unbound Nobody will hear me out I am dead bell, unwed, unwell Nobody can hear me now I am dead bell, dead bell, unwound Nobody will hear me out I am dead bell unwed, unwell I am floating I am floating Unbound
7.
Peach Lover 03:54
Peach lover in my dreams You come to me You call to me Like a hunger never leaving me Like a hunger never leaving me Cheap favour, hard labour How I long for the sweet nectar Never want to be The only one The only one The only one The only one alone Peach lover in my dreams You come to me You call to me Like a hunger never leaving me Like a hunger never leaving me You call to me
8.
Crystalline 03:15
Take a draw you’re feeling fine The fears are fading, fears are fading Leave this heavy world behind you’re fortified Take a look into my eyes Where do you hide, where do you hide Behind the glassy gold disguise A hint of my love, before he died We can’t buy more time Time is wasted on your smile You try to hide the ghost inside Who takes to my ear Whispering white lies We can’t but more time We’ve run dry My love he died My love he died
9.
Violet 03:41
Find release with the wind in your eyes Breeze them heavy, caress them dry Rest your head on the clouds Leave your mind behind Softened in shades of violet Heavy your heart no more, sweet child Find release with the wind in your eyes Breeze them heavy, caress them dry Rest your head on the clouds Leave your mind behind Softened in shades of violet Heavy your heart no more, sweet child

Pale is the night, we’ve been out wading the water Pale as we fight to float on the rising tide Motionless I have forgotten how to move in my body Fallen behind I have fallen behind again Pale is the night, time passes by so slowly Giving myself to the tide and however it moves in me Light on the rise and slowly I’m rising back to my body Light on the rise and still we are rising So, the life we knew sails away, sails away on deep blue waters From which we rise and slowly we’re rising Hail in the light, hail in the light and still we are rising Hail in the light, hail in the light and still we are rising Still we are rising Still we are rising Still we are rising Still we are rising Still we are rising Still we are rising

about

Recorded over two stormy days and nights in the winter of 2022, Still We Are Rising, has all the low-fi charm of a crackling vinyl platter from the 1970s blended with sounds from the modern freak-folk movement.

“I think this album will play well wherever people are looking for music that is intimate, that draws them in and takes them to other worlds for a while. I’m looking to create an atmosphere with each song. If people find the soundscapes of Still We Are Rising a welcome distraction from the everyday then that’s wonderful.”- Ruby Pettit
